Great food, service, atmosphere! Great place for special celebrations!
Over rated and no variety. Owner is extremely rude also.
We enjoyed it very much.
What a delectable treat!!! We enjoyed lunch with our office for my husband's birthday. This is a true Southern treasure!!!
Amazing!!!!! Everything perfect....steak cooked perfect melt in your mouth tender and words can’t explain the shrimp and grits OMG❤️ Service A+
Love the atmosphere, quaint older house charm, Blood Marie drinks are great! Multiple Menu choices, along with chef specials, trended for MS. Gulf Coast. Good food and good service. Work and Play Bay St. Louis!
Food was absolutely horrendous I would never eat there again. Along with the food being terrible so was parking and the menu. They have very little choices for food and what they do have is bad. Overall I would give a half star.Definitely over rated should have two stars and the reviews are nothing like the place I was upset I even spent my money here.Ps. Gordon Ramsey needs to visit this place
Great food, great service and a uniquely homey atmosphere.
We read great things and couldn’t wait to have dinner here during our stay in Bay St. Louis. They are closed on Tuesdays so we planned to dine there Wednesday. We called to make reservation but no one ever answered. We decided to just head on over at 5:30 and there was no one around and the lights were off. We tried calling again and still no answer. We left disappointed. Maybe they need to change their hours on their website.
We had an impromptu mother's day brunch here and it was fabulous. The building is lovely and service was fast. Food was excellent. I recommend the pizza, ropa vieja and the blue cheese encrusted steak. Can't wait to come back and try more.
Amazing meal every time I go in a beautiful setting.
Amazing omelet for brunch, perfectly done.
I would not recommend anybody to work in a place like that. No respect and recognition from the owner, as much as you do, you will still be treated like an animal. If it's a bad place to work, so it is to eat. I hope all the nice people that work there will look out for themselves and get a better job.
Read two reviews and we decided to try it out. There was adequate parking in back. When we got to the host we were asked if we had reservations, which we had not. Neither of the reviews mentioned reservations. We were seated quickly. However we sat for what felt like 30 minutes before our drink order was taken. After that though, everything was on point. We had random Cab with our dinner. It was very good. The BBQ shrimp app was absolutely delicious, with toasted bread for dipping. The cheeses in the Sycamore House salad and Bacon Gorgonzola and Tomato pizza raised everything to a higher level. We did feel a bit under dressed in our t shirts. We will definitely be back.
Food is amazing! My wife had the tuna and I had the salmon, holy cow! Both were cooked perfectly and our waiter made the best suggestions for "toppers". Large wine selection. Atmosphere is nice, it's an old house from the early 1900's/late 1800's with the original flooring still in the dining areas. Seems to be a hit spot with the local crowd as well.
Great place to start off our weekend in the Bay... Thanks Debbie you're the best!
Perfect place in Old Town with great food and atmosphere!
This is a great place to eat in Bay St. Louis. I had 8 people in my party, and everyone enjoyed their food. The menu has great seafood and non-seafood options. We had the specials and menu items; it was all seasoned well and tasted great. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Enjoyed breakfast in this historic house.
We absolutely love this restaurant! Cozy, beautiful old building with a menu that has some coast favorites prepared perfectly and you won't find the unique spin they put on them anywhere else. One of a kind gem.
Very nice. The flourless cake and homemade ice cream were to die for.
Good atmosphere, service not so
I love The Sycamore House they have such an amazing selection of delectable dishes, and also amazing cooks, servers and bartenders. I am never disappointed when I walk through their doors. Best brunch, lunch and dinner restaurant on the entire coast!!!!
Lovely atmosphere and good food
Good atmosphere, really good food. Dont be american hungry when you go because the portions are reasonable, not large.
The Sycamore House has an amazing atmosphere that mixes fancy dining with comfortable vibes! Every dish on their menu is awesome and is definitely worth to go by and enjoy an evening of dining and laughing!
Excellent food and service!
I took my husband here for his Birthday celebration on a Sunday. Brunch here was wonderful! The service was excellent and the food delighted with a perfect flavor bouquet and lovely presentation. Prices are also reasonable for this level of dining experience. Also, the atmosphere takes you to the quintessential Southern home. It feels like you are in the Gone with the Wind era, and Scarlett will be out any minute. Must visit! Well worth the 45 minute drive from Gulfport!
The food was not as good as I was expecting. With all the great reviews and selections on the menu I was expecting great to exceptional food. The menu selections sounded great. I got the fish of the day almondine and my wife got the BBQ shrimp and grits. The fish almondine was the worst fish almondine I ever got. Not that it was horrible. But it should have been much better and tastier. My wife liked the shrimp and grits but its flavor was not what one would expect for that dish. It was fair to good but with a different flavor than one would expect. The portions were smaller than one would like. The ambience and service was great. I felt for the price we should have gotten more food. A small salad should have been included with the meal. I would give it a second try. But was disappointed with the entrees given the high ratings of the restaurant.
Excellent service, food was delicious and on the healthier side, overall a nice place if you're looking for a classy place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
It's been many years since I've been in this historic building. It's where I had my first job some 30 years ago. I started as a busboy and worked my way up to waiter back when it was the Landmark. Needless to say many memories came flooding back when I walked into the building. So many of its features still remain. I was pleased to find it is still that place to have a fine meal in a fine atmosphere. However it is also nice that they offer simpler fare such as pizzas and sushi. I intend to return and become a regular. I'm a little embarrassed to be a bay rat and have been away so long
The Sycamore house is a Bay Saint Louis institution. But, it does not rely on it's history or reputation to get by. The food, staff and atmosphere are excellent. Highly recommended.
Old school restaurant with eclectic New Orleans fare. Only white table cloth in town. Best steaks and fish.. Small bar with friendly and helpful bartender. Great place to meet friends.
Service and food is excellent@
Excellent!! I had my bridal shower here. It was perfect!!
Need to update menu on website, great atmosphere
Friendly and helpful service. Kitchen takes a while so appetizers definitely help pass the time. Great food/atmosphere
Heard about the Sycamore House and had to try it! Great environment and great staff! Beautiful restaurant and food was AMAZING! Unique food, and wont find another restaurant like this anywhere! I will be a regular here! Recommend coming earlier than later in the evening, and reservations are not required!
Fine dining on the coast at its best!!!
One of our absolute all time favorite restaurants! Haven't had anything that wasn't fantastic! Everything from apps to salad to soups, entrees and desserts, it is so hard to decide what to have! Would give more stars if I could!!
Very cozy with a touch of class. Staff is very friendly as well.
Delicious food and great service. Parking can be difficult after a storm.
Shrimp and grits were phenomenal
My favorite place to eat, ever!!!!!
Very Unique menu, wide range of items, not an extensive menu, pricy but reasonable, LOVE the atmosphere
Delicious food, great service, charming too!
Wonderful food and atmosphere. the ropa vieja was yerrific and the brandied cherry brownie quite literally melted in your mouth. Our server was not up to par with the rest of the staff but overall a very enjoyable evening.
This is a really fine dining place for lunch or dinner. Even white table cloths and napkins at lunch service! The waitstaff is always on point. For instance, this weekend, at lunch, we asked for rum punches. Generally speaking, most servers will toss some rum, orange juice, and grenadine in a glass in call it a day. No, our server tracked down an excellent recipe and went our of her way to make us a genuine craft cocktail. There wasn't even a bartender on staff for that. The food is always spot on as well. We start every meal with the tuna poke (say "pokay"). Not sure where else you can get this Hawaiian dish in Mississippi or Louisiana. It is always perfect. The sandwiches and steaks are cooked well, and the basil aioli is very tasty no the sandwiches. The pizza is solid, but so many other entrees on the menu are more enticing.
This is the best restaurant I've been to in years. My wife and I went on a Wed evening and sat on the screened porch. We had a bbq shrimp roll as an appetizer which was excellent. I had shrimp and grits, again excellent while my wife had fish (I think I was too immersed in my dish). We had key lime pie and bread pudding for dessert while putting back three glasses of wine. The total bill was about $90. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and enjoy the best dinner you will have in a long time.
